N2 - We developed an easily reproducible cataract model for training purposes. Using the technique, cataract was induced in postmortem pig eyes after 9 seconds in a microwave oven. With this model, cataract surgery, including phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation, can be practiced successfully.
